Peterborough United defender Russell Martin is confident his side will be a success in League One this season.

Posh fell to a 1-0 defeat at Southend on Saturday in their first match following promotion from League Two.

Martin told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "A lot of the lads haven't played at this level before so it's a bit into the unknown.

"But we've got a massive belief here that we're easily good enough to do well at this level."

Martin made his first start for Peterborough in the defeat at Rots Hall, following his summer move from Wycombe Wanderers.
