Oxford United youngsters Ian Sampson and Richard Groves have both been offered professional contracts at the club when their scholarships expire.

Midfielder Declan Benjamin has been given the chance to impress with a deal which will run until Christmas.

But there is bad news for Oxford scholars Alex Fisher, James Foster, and Chris Fower.

All three have been told they will not be offered the chance to turn professional with United.

U's manager Chris Wilder told the club's website: "That was heartbreaking to tell them that but we will do all we can to try and help them find other clubs."
