Boss Wilder hails unity at Oxford

Oxford United manager Chris Wilder has said his side have a new sense of togetherness after their recent impressive run of results.

Oxford won their seventh-straight home game in the Blue Square Premier on Saturday, as they beat Mansfield 1-0.

"There is a togetherness about the club now," Wilder told BBC Oxford.

"The supporters, the players and staff are as one now. The fans willed us over the finish line, they know what we're about now."

Oxford have won seven games in an eight-match unbeaten run but five of those victories have been at home.

We would be fools to talk about the play-offs, if the teams around us win their games in hand, it won't happen

"We still have to turn teams over and a run of home games can bring its own difficulties," said Wilder.

"We have to be professional. In a tight game the most important thing is winning and that's what we did."

Meanwhile defender Luke Foster has played down promotion talk.

"We would be fools to talk about the play-offs," he said. "If the teams around us win their games in hand, it won't happen."
