Oxford United defender James Clarke has been released from hospital after a car crash on the A34 near Weston-on-the-Green in North Oxfordshire.
The 19-year-old was cut free from his car and taken to the John Radcliffe hospital for precautionary checks.
"I'm ok," Clarke told the Oxford United club website."I have a few bruises but I am fine.
"I have to thank the emergency services who were fantastic, and the staff at the John Radcliffe for their help."
He added: "There have been a few fans sending messages already and I just want to thank them for their concern."
