Day signed a new deal at Oxford this summer

Oxford United defender Matt Day says the next two friendlies against Wycombe and Cheltenham will help gauge how far the side has come.

Oxford impressed going forward in drawing 2-2 with a youthful Manchester United XI, but Day told BBC Oxford they now face more realistic tests.

"Wycombe and Cheltenham are the ones where you really know where you're at.

"They are only a league or so higher so that's where we want to be. We need to see what we need to work on," he said.
