Patterson is preparing for his first full season in charge of Oxford

Oxford United manager Darren Patterson has praised his side's cutting edge after a creditable 2-2 draw against a Manchester United XI on Saturday.

Yemi Odubade and Jamie Guy were on the scoresheet for the U's as they led 2-0, before a Red Devils comeback.

A pleased Patterson told BBC Oxford: "It's pretty positive going forward. Both wide players and centre forwards are scoring goals.

"As we all know we have to score goals to go up. I pleased with that."
