Jeannin has started a trial at Mansfield

Oxford United left-back Alex Jeannin has begun a trial at Blue Square Premier rivals Mansfield Town.

The 30-year-old has a year left on his Kassam Stadium contract but has been put on the transfer list.

Jeannin, who ended last season on loan at Kidderminster, figured in Mansfield's friendly at Ilkeston and is set to play against Derby this weekend.

The Frenchman has linked up with former Oxford striker Rob Duffy who is also on trial with the Stags.

Meanwhile, Oxford won their friendly at Bath City 1-0. Yemi Odubade scored the decisive goal after just two minutes.

Oxford rested loan signings Lewis Haldane, James Constable and Jamie Guy for much of the game, but fielded trialists Wayne Corden and Kyle Storer.
