Notts County manager Steve Cotterill says he is in no rush to begin discussions about a new contract.
The former Burnley boss has been at Meadow Lane for a month since agreeing initially to stay until the summer.
Cotterill told BBC Radio Nottingham: "The chairman said he would like to discuss longer term which was nice.
"I'm pretty relaxed with it. At the moment there are so many games that I'd rather concentrate on that, rather than talking about contracts."
Notts are currently unbeaten in seven matches and have reached the League Two automatic promotion places for the first time since August.
But Cotterill insists he will not be asking for more money once contract talks do begin.
He said: "I'm okay with the one I'm on, I don't need a pay rise.
"Not that we couldn't always do with a bit more money but I feel that extra money might be best spent elsewhere at the moment."
You can hear a full interview with Steve Cotterill on Matchday on BBC Radio Nottingham on Saturday afternoon from 1330 GMT.
