Notts County have signed Manchester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel for what is believed to be a club record.
The Dane, who played eight times for City in the top flight and spent time on loan at Coventry last season, has signed a five-year contract.
Schmeichel, 22, played under Magpies director of football Sven-Goran Eriksson while they were at Eastlands.
The undisclosed fee is thought to beat the £685,000 Notts paid for Sheffield United striker Tony Agana in 1991.
