Notts County chairman John Armstrong-Holmes says he would welcome a Special General Meeting of the club's Supporters' Trust membership.
Some fans - unhappy with how the club is being run - will collect signatures for a petition to call a meeting and a vote of no confidence in the chairman.
Armstrong-Holmes said: "I will be extremely pleased if a Special General Meeting can be arranged.
"I would love to explain the situation to members. We have nothing to hide."
Armstrong-Holmes is still in talks with potential investors interested in putting money into the League Two side.
The club's Supporters' Trust, which owns the majority of shares in County, have claimed they were not informed of the club's financial situation.
I'm convinced that what we are trying to do is right for this club

Two members of the Trust have since resigned, although Armstrong-Holmes says names of potential investors or details of the investment cannot be revealed because of a confidentiality agreement.
He added: "What I need all genuine supporters to understand is that, at the end of the day, my views and plans will count for very little.
"Absolutely nothing can happen in terms of investment into this football club unless it is acceptable to the club directors, and all shareholders - including the Trust membership.
"I know that the constant bad publicity is unsettling for genuine supporters, and it is doing serious damage to the credibility of Notts County.
"But I'm convinced that what we are trying to do is right for this club and if it is possible to bring a firm proposal to the table, we fully intend to do that."
