County investors not scared off

Notts County

A group of local businessmen are still apparently interested in investing money in League Two side Notts County.

County chairman John Armstrong-Holmes revealed last month that a proposed 2m investment was in jeopardy because the deal is now out in the open.

But a statement on the club website said that the potential investors have not withdrawn their interest despite recent adverse publicity.

It is understood that negotiations have been ongoing since September.

Armstrong-Holmes has said that names of potential investors or details of the investment cannot be revealed because of a confidentiality agreement.

But the statement claims that the group's interest is as strong as ever and that they are in "what could be described as the final stages of being able to place a firm offer for consideration by the club board."

Meanwhile, after two resignations from the 15-strong board of the club's Supporters Trust in the last week, more are now expected.
