A meeting is to be held between the city council and Notts County Football Club about safety concerns raised in a report earlier this month.
The club was warned it could face prosecution over safety problems at Meadow Lane.
The problems included maintenance issues and the decision to open up the Kop stand to home fans without consulting the council.
Notts County said the majority of concerns had been dealt with.
'Matter of urgency'
The city council also criticised the ticketing policy at the game between the Magpies and Rotherham in December which it said "compromised safety".
It said some Rotherham fans tried to buy tickets for the home supporters' stand because they were cheaper.
Notts County chairman John Armstrong-Holmes said: "The vast majority [of issues] have now been dealt with and in many instances, that was done prior to us receiving the report."
Mr Armstrong-Holmes admitted that the issue of some supporters standing in the top section of the Kop still needed to be resolved.
He said as the stand has a gradient of more than 30 degrees, standing was "potentially dangerous" and said the section might have to be closed unless supporters remained seated.
A city council spokesperson said: "Several maintenance issues raised in the letter have already been addressed by the club and the council will be meeting with directors to discuss how all outstanding problems can be resolved as a matter of urgency."
The meeting is scheduled to take place on Wednesday.
