Nottingham Forest striker Robbie Findley could be out of action for up to 12 weeks with a thigh injury.
The 25-year-old United States international only completed his move to the City Ground last week but has been injured in training.
Meanwhile midfielder Guy Moussi is also expected to be sidelined for around six weeks with a thigh injury.
The Frenchman, 26, sustained the injury in the first half of Tuesday's 2-1 victory over Coventry.
