Billy Davies keen for Nottingham Forest to adapt

Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies says his side must learn to adapt to the different situations thrown at them throughout the course of a season.

Despite being unbeaten since the opening day, Forest have drawn seven of their first 10 matches.

Davies told BBC Radio Nottingham: "We want to play a certain way but we know that we can't always play that way.

"We've got to continue to face different types of scenarios and that's what football is all about."

Forest are 11th in the Championship with 13 points from 10 matches - three adrift of the play-offs and five clear of the relegation zone.

Following a 3-1 win over Swansea, Davies' men have since struggled to break down Sheffield United at home and Doncaster away, as both games ended in 1-1 draws.

In fact, six of Forest's seven draws this season have ended in 1-1 scorelines.

"We are creating a culture here that we have been for the last 18 to 20 months," Davies added.

"We will try and stick to our type of play and progress and continue, and that comes from the type of player you sign and the types of players that go into your team."
