Nottingham Forest form down to graft - Paul McKenna

Nottingham Forest captain Paul McKenna has said hard graft and a pacy, competitive front line is behind their run to third spot in the Championship.

The Reds have gone 14 games unbeaten and are now on 39 points, level with second-placed West Brom.

McKenna told BBC Radio Nottingham: "We're a good unit, we've worked hard and it's showing during games.

"There's plenty of pace not only in the team but on the bench and I suppose it would be frightening to play against."

Saturday saw Forest continue their fine run with a comprehensive 3-0 win over Preston.

The victory is their fourth in five games and takes their tally to 12 goals in three home games but McKenna remained cautious.

"We're not getting too ahead of ourselves," the former Preston man added.

"Last month West Brom were scoring four or five goals a game and now they have had a bit of a sticky patch. Every team goes through it and we need to keep the run going.

"You aim to be at the top. It's nice to see us up there and we want to be up there as long as we can."
