Nottingham Forest have announced that bookmaker Victor Chandler will be their new main team sponsor in a deal worth a substantial six-figure sum.

They replace Nottingham-based Capital One, who ended their five-year tie up with the club last season.

Forest chief executive Mark Arthur told BBC Radio Nottingham: "We are absolutely delighted with the deal."

Victor Chandler said: "I am delighted with the agreement to sponsor Nottingham Forest."

The deal between the two parties will initially run for a year.

Arthur added: "It's Victor Chandler's first step in to football (sponsorship). We'll have to see what they think of football and of Nottingham Forest.

It may well delay our new kit by a few extra days and we ask people to be patient with regard to that Nottingham Forest chief executive Mark Arthur

"We'll also have to see how they are perceived in our fan base and the type of sponsor they end up being.

"It's the largest investment Victor Chandler have made in the world of football and we're honoured they have chosen to link-up with us.

"I've seen a mock-up of our new shirts with Victor Chandler on and they look very strong.

"It may well delay our new kit by a few extra days and we ask people to be patient with regard to that, but the product in the end will look really good."
