Breckin began his career with Rotherham

Nottingham Forest have placed former club captain Ian Breckin on the transfer list.

The defender has made 140 appearances for the Reds since joining them from Wigan in 2005 but has not figured in the past six matches.

He started eight games this season but slipped behind Wes Morgan and Kelvin Wilson in the pecking order.

Forest have also put defender Hamza Bencherif on the list ahead of the transfer window in January.

The Algerian international has yet to appear in the Forest first team.
