Nottingham Forest captain Ian Breckin believes the Reds are finally settling into the Championship competition.
Breckin told BBC Radio Nottingham: "Eventually we're getting a foothold in the league.
"It took us a long time but we're looking as though we've come to terms with this league and let's hope now we can kick on and get a few more points."
Forest have won two games all season but have taken four points from the last two, including a draw at Derby.
The Reds are second-from-bottom of the table with 10 points, and face second-from-top Birmingham on Saturday.
The 32-year-old centre-half signed a new one-year deal at the City Ground in March.
