Bennett is hoping to be involved after recovering from injury

Nottingham Forest defender Julian Bennett says the Reds can go from strength to strength if they do well over Christmas.

Forest play relegation rivals Southampton, Doncaster and Norwich before the turn of the year.

Bennett told BBC Radio Nottingham: "The Christmas period is always important in any league.

"If we come out of it with all the wins that we need, which I'm sure we will, then it'll look bright for us."

Bennett is hoping to be involved in the festive fixtures after recovering from a broken collar bone.

Forest are third from bottom at the Championship, but only above Charlton and Doncaster on goal difference.
