Nottingham Forest fans are being urged to wear green at next Wednesday's Carling Cup tie with Sunderland in tribute to Brian Clough.
Manager Colin Calderwood told the club website: "Anyone who holds Forest close to their hearts won't need telling about the contribution Brian made.
"I'm also aware of the massive impact he made as a Sunderland player and I want both sets of fans to honour him."
Clough became famous for his green sweatshirt in his 18-year Reds' reign.
The legendary manager died from stomach cancer in September 2004 at the age of 69.
He played for Sunderland from 1961 until 1964, scoring 54 goals in 61 league games.
