Holt had been playing through the pain of the injury in recent weeks, but Forest have now decided to postpone the surgery for at least a fortnight.

"Grant suffered no adverse reaction to his run-out as a substitute on Saturday," manager Colin Calderwood told Forest's website.

"With Nathan Tyson carrying a knock, we decided to postpone the surgery."
