Martin has scored 16 goals for the Canaries so far this season

Norwich City striker Chris Martin has signed a new three-and-a-half year deal at the League One leaders.

Manager Paul Lambert told the club website: "He's been brilliant this season and deserves a new contract.

"It's great to have players come through the academy. He's still 21 and a terrific finisher with both feet."

Martin has 16 goals so far, and said: "You look to try and get 20 and from there we'll see how it goes - hopefully a few more after that as well."

Martin signed professional terms at the club in April 2007, having made his first-team debut earlier that season.
