McDonald joined Norwich from non-league Dartford last season
Striker Cody McDonald says he has been happy to play the role of provider in Norwich's most recent victories.
The 23-year-old laid on goals for Grant Holt and Chris Martin in the 7-0 FA Cup win at Paulton, and provided an assist for Holt in the 3-1 win over Stockport.
"It doesn't really matter who's scoring the goals, as long as we're winning," McDonald told BBC Radio Norfolk.
"People said maybe I should have shot, but if a team-mate is in a better position then I'll pass it."
The former Dartford striker hasn't begun a game since August, but is hoping for a start in Tuesday's Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie at Swindon.
"Whether I get the chance to start or come on as a sub I'll just do the same as I have been doing. Hopefully, that's contributing," McDonald added.
"When I've been coming on I've been happy with what I've been doing and the manager's [Paul Lambert] been praising me, telling me I've been doing well.
"That's always good when you're getting the backing from the manager, so I'll keep doing what I'm doing and push for a starting place," he said.
