Young goalkeeper Jed Steer has signed his first professional contract at Norwich City, which will keep him at Carrow Road until June 2012.
He has already featured for the first team when he played in two pre-season friendlies on City's tour of Scotland.
The England youth international signed the deal on his 17th birthday.
"I started coming to Norwich matches at the age of six and it's always been my dream to get a professional contract," Steer told BBC Radio Norfolk.
With fellow academy product Declan Rudd already occupying the Canaries' bench in League One this season, Steer knows he may have to bide his time before getting into the first team.
"I'm hoping to break into the reserves this season, play a few games in there and, as we've seen with Tom [Adeyemi] and Korey [Smith], the gaffer puts young players in," the Norwich-born keeper added.
"That's really good for the club and it's good to see."
Norwich have also announced that defender Michael Nelson will be out of action for another month as his ankle injury is worse than the club first thought.
He damaged his ankle ligaments in last week's 2-1 defeat at MK Dons and is wearing a plastic boot to protect his foot.
Nelson wants to return to action as soon as possible.
"You always want to be out there and involved. There's nothing you can do sitting and watching," Nelson told the club's website.
