A late equaliser from Grant Holt secured a point for Norwich as Charlton Athletic surrendered their position at the top of the League One table.
Striker Holt headed in Chris Martin's deflected cross to complete a fine comeback for the home side.
Charlton had taken a 2-0 lead on 40 minutes through headed goals from Deon Burton and Jonjo Shelvey.
Norwich responded three minutes later with a Wes Hoolahan strike before Holt levelled two minutes into injury time.
Norwich manager Paul Lambert told BBC Radio Norfolk:
"They were brilliant. I didn't think they deserved to be a goal down in the first place.
"Effort-wise, and our hunger and our desire, 2-0 down against a team top of the league, absolutely fantastic they were."
Charlton manager Phil Parkinson told BBC London 94.9:
"We're disappointed that the goal's been given. What should have been three points is just one point.
"Of course when you concede a late goal, and it's a dubious one at that, it is disappointing.
"Carrow Road is a difficult place to come but I've never known a ground so pleased to have drawn at home.
"I thought the spirit and the effort in the team was very good. And to still be unbeaten after eight games is a great tribute to the lads."
