Forester played seven games on loan at Stockport last season
Norwich City manager Paul Lambert has snapped up Newcastle goalkeeper Fraser Forster on a one-month emergency loan.
The move comes after Ben Alnwick, on loan from Spurs, suffered a gash to his face in City's 4-1 Carling Cup defeat by Sunderland on Monday.
Lambert told BBC Radio Norfolk the 6ft 6ins keeper is just what they need.
"His height and his presence will be beneficial to us, Ben's got the fitness test on Saturday, either way I couldn't take a risk," he said.
Summer signing Michael Theoklitos has not played since the 7-1 opening day defeat by Colchester.
And Lambert has admitted he is not about to stand in the Australian's way if he wants to pursue other opportunities.
"When somebody comes into a football club in your position, and goalkeeper is a specialised role, you think 'where does that leave me'," he said.
"I'm not here to keep everybody happy, I'm here to win us as many games as I can, I'd never stagnate anybody's career.
"I don't think Michael will want to settle for third or fourth choice, he's never been a problem about the place and if he wants to go and play football I wouldn't stand in his way," he added.
Forster, 21, has been on loan with League One side Bristol Rovers since the start of the season.
