Holt was top-scorer in League Two with Shrewsbury last season.
Grant Holt says he is surprised that Norwich City have not been named favourites to win League One.
The Canaries have been placed by many bookmakers as second-favourites to top the table, behind Leeds United.
"I'm quite surprised we haven't been pushed up to favourites to be honest in the last couple of weeks," Holt told BBC Radio Norfolk.
"But you've just got to forget about that, go out and play the games and try and do what we know we can do."
The Canaries' summer signing insists that even the expectation of second place is not adding any undue pressure to the team.
"Everyone knows that we should go up," he said.
"We've got a good enough squad and I firmly believe that if the players perform, which they can, we will get promoted.
"But it's a tough old league, you've got to go loads of places and grind out results," he added.
"I think that what the manager has done is bring in a good mix of talent, people who can win games, but also he's got the experience to go and hold out away games and take draws."
Norwich City begin the League One season at home to Colchester on 8 August.
