Norwich director pledges funding

Norwich City director Michael Foulger this week pledged to match money raised from unclaimed season ticket rebates.

Fans who renewed early are entitled to up to 20% of the cost back following the club's relegation to League One.

Foulger told BBC Radio Norfolk he felt the time was right to increase his financial commitment to the club.

"I've tried to assist Michael [Wynn Jones] and Delia [Smith] with any fundraising, I now felt it was time to try and do something bigger," he said.

The head of the club's biggest supporters group had this week described the offer as "emotional blackmail", claiming that the club's board were pressuring fans not to claim their rebate.

But Foulger denies the claim: "I don't think it's pressure, everyone's entitled to the rebate, those who claim are still season ticket holders and we respect their opinion.

"It's just something that, if it did come back in, and we're talking substantial figures, I'm personally prepared to match pound-for-pound solely for the playing budget," he said.

The club are also seeking a new chairman and chief executive following the respective departures of Roger Munby and Neil Doncaster in the aftermath of relegation.

"I would hope we would have at least two new board members within three-to-four weeks, we are talking to people and we've done some interviews for chief executive.

"It's one that we've got to do our best to get right," Foulger said.
