Former Norwich City captain Matt Jackson believes Adrian Boothroyd would be the perfect choice as the club's next manager.
The ex-Watford boss is currently the bookies favourite to replace Glenn Roeder, who was sacked on Wednesday.
Matt Jackson told BBC Radio Norfolk: "He galvanises people very early, I think he'd be very good and would get the best out of the squad."
Jackson and Boothroyd were team-mates as players at Carrow Road.
Meanwhile, Rotherham manager Mark Robins has described reports linking him to the vacancy as "unhelpful speculation."
Mark Bowen, currently the assistant manager at Manchester City and another former Norwich player, has also ruled himself out of the running.
