Warhurst had just one game in charge as caretaker player-manager |
Blue Square Premier strugglers Northwich Victoria are back in the hunt for a new manager following Paul Warhurst's decision to leave the club. The former Blackburn defender had been placed in temporary charge following Neil Redfearn's resignation last week.
But Warhurst has now moved on following talks with chairman Mike Connett, so senior player Dino Maamria will lead the team against Woking on Saturday.
Connett had said: "If Paul does the business, then the job's his."
But Warhurst told the Northwich Guardian: "The financial circumstances of the club mean we can't bring any new players in to improve the team.
"I felt we needed to do that to make progress so it's a very disappointing ending from a personal point of view."
