Warhurst has the chance to become Northwich's new boss |
Paul Warhurst is in pole position to fill the managerial vacancy at struggling Northwich Victoria. The ex-Bolton and Blackburn player has been put in temporary charge following the resignation of Neil Redfearn.
Chairman Mike Connett told the Northwich Guardian: "We've had 10 applicants so far but if Paul Warhurst does the business then the job's his."
Warhurst, 37, is believed to have been a candidate for the job before Redfearn's appointment in the summer.
Warhurst signed on as a Vics player last week.
