Northampton Town boss Ian Sampson has admitted that transfer-listed Aldershot striker Marvin Morgan is one of several players they are tracking.
The 27-year-old was placed on the list by the Shots following a message posted on social networking website Twitter.
But Sampson told BBC Look East: "He had a decent scoring record last year, so he's one we'll look at.
"If they're decent players, they're not all squeaky clean. You can manage certain players in different ways."
The Cobblers, who have placed a bid for Burton Albion striker Shaud Harrad, have previously been linked with Crewe Alexandra's Calvin Zola.

Sampson awaits decisions from targets
"It's early days into January, and we'd like to get something tied down soon as possible," said Sampson.
"But those we've targeted want to consider their options. They don't want to dive in straightaway."
Morgan, who has not scored for the Shots since mid-October, has hit five goals this season.
But he was the club's top scorer with 16 last season, including three in two games against the Cobblers.
