Leon McKenzie 'could finish career' at Northampton Town

Northampton Town striker Leon McKenzie says he would be happy to spend the rest of his career at Sixfields.

The 32-year-old has scored five goals in five starts since joining the Cobblers in September, including a first-half hat-trick against Hereford.

McKenzie told BBC Radio Northampton: "The team are getting used to how I'm playing and if I get the service, I'll put the ball in the net.

"I'm really happy here. If I could finish my career here then I will."

Northampton ended a run of five straight league defeats when they beat Gillingham at Sixfields on Saturday, McKenzie grabbing the winner from the penalty spot.

"We needed a bit of luck. We've played better than that in recent weeks but we got the result and I'm pleased for [manager] Ian Sampson," added McKenzie.
