QPR winger Josh Parker has finished his loan spell at Northampton Town a week earlier than planned.

The 19-year-old was due to complete a one-month stint with the Cobblers, but after making three appearances has returned to Loftus Road.

Boss Ian Sampson said: "He was not happy when we told him he would not be in the starting eleven for the game at Oxford at the weekend.

"He asked to go back and we agreed that was the best course of action."

Parker would have been cup-tied for Tuesday's League Cup clash with Ipswich Town, after making his only ever QPR start in the competition earlier in the season.
