Northampton Town defender Craig Hinton played 45 minutes in a practice match against a Tottenham XI as he steps up his recovery from a knee injury.
The 32-year-old has not featured since the final day of last season after being sidelined with tendinitis.
Boss Ian Sampson told the club's website: "He got through it fine without any obvious ill effects."
Hinton has played 46 times for the Cobblers since joining from Bristol Rovers in the summer of 2009.
