Northampton Town have momentum, says Ian Sampson

Northampton Town manager Ian Sampson says his side have "momentum" following their impressive run of form.

The Cobblers have won 10 of their last 15 games, conceding just 10 goals in the process, to climb into the League Two play-off places.

"We've got momentum with four straight wins and that's massive in football," Sampson told BBC Radio Northampton.

"Teams do become apprehensive when they play you. We're glad to have it, and it puts us in a good position."

Town now lie just six points behind Notts County, who occupy the final automatic promotion slot, but Sampson maintains that a top-three finish is not a realistic target.

"I'm not one of those people to get ahead of myself," he added.

"Those places may be beyond us, because Notts County have games in hand."
