Altrincham grabbed their first win in seven games as Kettering dropped out of the Blue Square Premier play-off spots.

The hosts, who had drawn their previous four games, sealed their win by half-time, leading 2-0 at the break.

John McAliskey put Alty ahead with a close-range shot before Shaun Densmore scored from the spot after Chris Senior was fouled by Alton Thelwell.

Greg Taylor had Kettering's best chance late on but he was denied by Altrincham keeper Stuart Coburn.
