Dunn has made 18 appearances for the Cobblers this season
Northampton goalkeeper Chris Dunn has said that the Cobblers can take some positives from Tuesday's 3-1 JP Paint Trophy defeat by MK Dons.
Town were 3-0 down inside 27 minutes at Stadium MK, with Steve Guinan heading in a second-half consolation goal.
Dunn told BBC Radio Northampton: "We dominated the second half but by then it was too late.
"We kept our shape better and tried to be positive. If we take that into the Grimsby match, we can get a result."
Town's disappointment was compounded when centre-halves Pat Kanyuka and Dean Beckwith were both forced from the field with injuries.
Kanyuka took a blow from Dunn as the goalkeeper attempted to close down Dons striker Sam Baldock and Beckwith, who has just recovered from a groin strain, pulled his hamstring.
"[Substitute] Chris McCready did well," added Dunn.
"We've got a few centre-backs who have played together now, so there's no issue with it being different players in front of me."
