MK Dons booked their place in the Southern Section semi-finals of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy with a comfortable win over Northampton.
Aaron Wilbraham put the home side ahead when he controlled a Lewis Gobern cross and swivelled before firing in a shot.
Sam Baldock raced on to Luke Howell's long ball and slotted in before scoring a penalty after being fouled by Chris Dunn as MK Dons went 3-0 up.
Steve Guinan headed in for the Cobblers in what proved a consolation goal.
Northampton Town manager Ian Sampson told BBC Radio Northampton:
"I rue some of the decisions, the linesman has given them two goals.
"Their second goal was two yards offside, and it's beyond me how he's given a penalty [for the third goal].
"It spoilt what would've been a good game. I was delighted with the second half but disappointed with the officials."
