Northampton Town goalkeeper Simon Brown insists results will improve once a permanent manager is appointed.
Saturday's 2-1 defeat by Rochdale was their second under caretaker boss Ian Sampson since Stuart Gray's sacking.
Brown told BBC Radio Northampton: "We're in transition, and so there's not much stability at the club.
"It's a recipe for jittery performance. But there's some talented players here, and I don't think we'll be in this position for very long."
The 32-year-old has replaced Chris Dunn in the Northampton Town goal since signing earlier this month.
"We've had a chat, and this happens in football. But he is young, and a great prospect. He'll be back playing football, either here or somewhere else on loan. He's got to keep pushing," Brown added.
