Gray will remain as manager despite Northampton's relegation
Captain Chris Doig is one of several players to be released by Northampton Town boss Stuart Gray following their relegation to League Two.
Strikers Leon Constantine and Colin Larkin and youngster Greg Taylor are also surplus to requirements.
Mark Hughes, Chris Dunn, Jason Crowe and Giles Coke have been offered deals.
"We are sorry to see some excellent servants of the club depart, but the bottom line is we have not been good enough this season," said Gray.
Gray takes blame for relegation
The club have activated a clause in Adebayo Akinfenwa's deal to ensure he is under contract for the coming campaign.
All loan players have returned to their parent clubs and Liam Dolman has been invited to return to pre-season training with the club on 1 July and he may be offered a contract then, based on his pre-season performance.
Those players offered new contracts have until 16 June to respond.
"It is never an easy decision, and of course we wish those players moving on all the best and thank them for their efforts," said manager Stuart Gray.
