Northampton Town newcomer Ikechi Anya has set his sights on a place in the starting line-up after two outings from the substitutes bench.
The 21-year-old Scottish-born winger joined the Cobblers on a short-term contract from Halesowen last month.
He was brought on before half-time against Tranmere on Saturday and helped Northampton secure a 1-1 draw.
"If I get a chance I do my best and hopefully I'll be in the gaffer's thoughts next time," said Anya.
He added: "I think we showed a lot of character to hit back from a goal down.
"We came busting out of the gate after the break which is what he (manager Stuart Gray) wanted, and all-in-all I think we'll take the point."
Anya may come into consideration for a start when Gray ponders his options for Tuesday's League One trip to Millwall.
