Stuart Gray is preparing to head back into the loan market

Northampton manager Stuart Gray has targeted new signings to strengthen his squad as the backlog of fixtures increases in the wintry weather.

The Cobblers were left idle again at the weekend after their League One match at Yeovil was postponed.

"The squad will get stretched," Gray told the club's website.

"We need to make sure we're covered as well as we can be in all areas. Hopefully I can bring in some fresh faces," he added.

The loan market reopens this week and Gray wants to reinforce the playing strength as the Cobblers, currently 16th in the table, look to avoid a relegation battle.
