Kettering missed the chance to close on the chasing pack after a stalemate.

Chances fell to both sides, Northwich keeper Ryan Clarke saved superbly from Gareth Seddon's 20-yard drive, while Simon Grand hit wide for the home team.

Joel Byrom saw his effort from a Lee Elam free-kick saved by visiting keeper Lee Harper, while at the other end, a diving Clarke denied Craig Westcarr.

Northwich's Matt Bailey headed wide, but Westcarr could have stolen it only to see two shots frantically blocked.
