Northampton Town have terminated striker Ian Henderson's contract after his failure to score in 33 first-team appearances in 18 months.
Henderson, who has not started a game this season, has not even appeared as a substitute since November.
The adaptable front man signed for Northampton in June 2007 from Norwich City following a loan deal the previous season at Rotherham United.
Henderson, 24 next month, is now free to find a new club in January.
