Gutierrez joined Newcastle from Real Mallorca in July 2008
Newcastle United winger Jonas Gutierrez has said the club's promotion bid is still on course following Wednesday's 1-1 draw with Queens Park Rangers.
The Magpies lost their 100% record at St James' Park in the stalemate, but the Argentine winger believes the draw represented a good result.
"The teams below us lost so it's a good point," he told BBC Newcastle.
"It's a hard division, teams want to beat us and QPR had a good work ethic and players."
Gutierrez was making his first appearance for Newcastle since August's 4-3 League Cup win against Huddersfield after recovering from a hamstring injury.
Former Magpies boss Kevin Keegan signed Gutierrez from Spanish side Real Mallorca in July 2008 for an undisclosed fee, and the winger has since been a regular for the Argentina national team.
