Nolan joined Newcastle in the January transfer window
Newcastle United midfielder Kevin Nolan believes a collective responsibility within the squad will be the key to their Premier League survival.
The Magpies returned to winning ways with Saturday's 3-2 win at West Brom and Nolan felt his team-mates' defensive display deserved credit.
He told BBC Radio Newcastle: "We have been hammered for defensive errors but the back-four were fantastic.
"We've just got to cut out silly mistakes all over the park."
The former Bolton midfielder moved from the North West to the North East when he left the Trotters for St James' Park during the January transfer window.
And despite having been with Wanderers since signing as a schoolboy at the age of 16, Nolan believes he has made the right move.
"It's been a mad old week and the lads have made it really enjoyable for me," he said.
"The lads have made me feel really welcome and they've been fantastic, it's a great club and that one today was for Joe Kinnear."
Manager Kinnear, who suffered a heart attack 10 years ago, was admitted to hospital before Saturday's game complaining of high blood pressure, but hopes to be allowed home on Tuesday.
