Midfielder Neil MacFarlane has signed for Morton after leaving First Division rivals Queen of the south.
The 31-year-old, who has previously played for Airdrieonians, Hearts, Aberdeen and Gretna, has signed a two-year contract with the Greenock club.
Morton manager David Irons told his club website: "He will be a sitting midfielder, protecting our defence.
"We need someone to give us that security, to win the ball and keep it simple. I'm delighted."
MacFarlane began his career with Queen's Park before moving to Kilmarnock but was loaned back to the Spiders then Clyde before heading for Airdrie.
He went on to spend four years in the top flight with Hearts before shorter spells with Aberdeen and Gretna.
MacFarlane arrives at Cappielow after two years in Dumfries with Queen of the South.
