Morecambe have signed Doncaster Rovers goalkeeper Ben Smith on a month's loan.
Boss Sammy McIlroy has recruited the 23-year-old as cover for the injured Barry Roche, who has been ruled out for six weeks with a leg injury.
Scott Davies deputised for Roche in last weekend's 4-1 defeat at Aldershot, but Smith is now expected to come in for Saturday's trip to Torquay.
"With Barry out for so long we needed cover and Ben is highly recommended," said McIlroy.
The son of leading goalkeeping coach Simon Smith, he started his career on Stockport County's books before joining Doncaster in August 2006.
He has made 27 first team appearances for Rovers, as well as playing nine times in a two-month loan with Lincoln City two seasons ago.
