Watford beat Millwall Lionesses 2-0 to draw level with them at the top of the Women's Premier League table.
The big guns are closing in, however, as they play catch-up on fixtures after starting the season late due to having players on England duty at Euro 2009.
Chelsea moved third after Stef Curtis hit a hat-trick in a 4-0 win against her former club Bristol Academy.
Leeds Carnegie are third after beating Blackburn Rovers 3-2, while Arsenal thrashed Nottingham Forest 8-0.
Kim Little hit her fourth hat-trick of the season for Arsenal, taking her season's goal tally to an incredible 16 in seven matches. The Gunners have played only three games but now lie sixth.
Everton, the fourth team to have made a late start, had their game at Birmingham City postponed. Sunderland's meeting with Doncaster Belles was also called off.
Nottingham Forest 0-8 Arsenal
Three days after thrashing Doncaster 8-1, the Gunners were even harsher on Forest, though at half-time they led only 2-0 through Corinne Yorston and Rachel Yankey.
Little struck twice just after the break and completed her hat-trick following goals by Helen Lander, Katie Chapman and Gemma Davison.
Bristol Academy 0-4 Chelsea
Chelsea maintained their 100% winning start to the season to move within a point of the top two after playing just four league games.
Curtis scored twice in the first half then completed her hat-trick midway through the second. A late Eartha Pond goal rounded off the scoring.
Watford 2-0 Millwall Lionesses
Kate Longhurst's first-minute lob and a 76th-minute goal direct from a corner by Bonnie Horwood sent Watford joint-top.
Both the Hornets and the Lionesses have taken nine games to reach 13 points, however, and their days at the top look numbered.
Leeds Carnegie 3-2 Blackburn Rovers
In-form strikers Carla Cantrell and Ellen White were both on target as Leeds swept into a 3-0 lead.
After Sue Smith had opened the scoring, Cantrell hit her sixth goal in five games before White took her recent tally to six in six games.
Rovers fought back through Nat Preston and Katie Anderton but they were unable to force an equaliser and remain second bottom, two points ahead of Bristol.
